It’s been a busy December for gallery owners Alan Simmons, Sequoia Madan and Melissa Enriquez, whose interior design and art galleries are debuting this first week of the month. Here’s the low down:
Alan Simmons’ new gallery, appropriately named Alan Simmons Art + Design, opened its doors on Dec. 1st and is located at 1415 Slocum Street, Suite 105. A leading art dealer and consultant, Simmons will feature both commercial and fine art items, including paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass pieces and prints in his new Design District space. “Opening a gallery has been a lifelong dream of mine,” said Simmons. “After three years of designing and planning, the dream has come to fruition.”
Sequoia Madan recently opened a second location of her Santa Fe art and design studio right here on Dragon Street. Her home design pieces focus mainly on natural, rugged materials like wood, leather and iron, and her art works continue in the same vein. The showroom, Sequoia Dallas: Exotic Interiors International, is located at 1403 Dragon Street.
Gallerie Noir, the dark and mysterious gallery that has taken over 1525 Dragon Street, will be debuting with a grand opening party on Tuesday, Dec. 4th, complete with DJs, drinks, artwork and a toy drive benefiting Toys for Tots. The gallery doubles as a design studio, where “historical modern” furnishings meet photography, painting and sculpture. Stop by to check it out this Tuesday from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m.
