Too many galleries in the Design District? No such thing! Today we welcome yet another gallery to Dallas’ famed Dragon Street – Gallerie Noir.

Located in the heart of the action at 1525 Dragon, Gallerie Noir is helmed by owner and interior designer Melissa Enriquez. Enriquez has been crafting her own brand of buzz on the Gallerie Noir Facebook page for a little while now, posting art news, pieces and stories that inspire her and her aesthetic.

According to its website, Gallerie Noir will be home to not only art but also interior design pieces, including furniture and accessories. The Design District is already home to an impressive array of brilliant showrooms and galleries helmed by well-travelled and creative men and women, and Gallerie Noir will add yet another to its prestigious ranks.

According to Gallerie Noir’s Facebook page, Enriquez’ style is informed by “an intelligent fusion of her love for art with historical elements and modern design.” A trip to Gallerie Noir may present you with works of contemporary painting and sculpture situated between pieces of modern furniture and design pieces.

The gallery’s grand opening celebration is tonight from 6:30 until 10:00 p.m. and, judging from the people they’ll have in attendance, it should be quite the scene. I’m sure there will be all of the requisite ingredients for a fabulous art opening as well as a toy drive and an impressive array of artist’s work on display.

If you can’t make it to the opening don’t worry. This gallery is here to stay and there will be plenty of opportunities to visit the gallery during regular hours in the future. Please join me in welcoming one of the Design District’s newest residents to the neighborhood!
