Please join us to present our most recent Gallerie Noir artist Daniel Diaz-Tai.
Born in Venezuela (1981). He was raised somewhere between Cumana, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing and San Francisco. Graduated with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2004, also earned a M.F.A in Painting from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco in 2010.
His multiple homes have strongly influenced his chosen career as a visual artist. While his work developed from the need to find common ground between his journeys. By creating his own language through painting and calligraphy, he discovered a process that allows him to express himself. His spontaneous brush strokes come from his subconscious expressing a new voice, echo the aesthetic of Chinese Calligraphy as well his obsession with text and graphics. These brush strokes are intertwined with his asemic writing to create a powerful and seductive fluidity.
His studio is currently in San Francisco. Daniel Diaz-Tai’s artwork has been exhibited throughout the United States, London, HK Indonesia and South America. He was invited by the Ministry of Culture of Venezuela to give a SOLO Exhibition in Caracas, Venezuela in 2013.
